Why this petition matters

The recent account suspensions and rollback of game status for the players of Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's, The Division 2 due to the exploiting of a game glitch/bug that resulted in the players are able to progress faster than expected and "to gain an unfair in-game advantage" - according to Ubisoft's player forum, has caused a rage among the player community. Especially for a lot of veterans who have been loyal to the game since The Division 1.

I came aware of this situation since I am a member of a Division gaming community in China. A lot of us have exploited the bug and got our accounts suspended, and we feel absolutely fine that this decision has been taken since it's really not following a good code of conduct in the gaming community. However, since we have some community members who have not been exploiting the glitch and still get banned, while on the other hand members who had used the glitch and not get banned. It makes us doubt the actual mechanism of detecting who has/has not been exploiting the glitch is really fair.

Ubisoft has claimed that players who have been banned wrongly can approach their customer service if they have been accused wrongly, but the online customer service has been terminated temporarily, while the auto-reply function of the ticket has not been responding according to the complaint rightfully.

To make the situation worst, the announcement of rolling back the game status for the sanctioned players "to a save from March 17th, causing all account progress gained during this period to be reset." have created a bigger frustration in the community since there is also the possibility of players who have legitly grind for their gear during these periods of time, and accidentally grouped with unknown players who were exploiting the glitch - which also resulted in the banning of accounts. We, as The Division fan, felt this is absolutely unfair for the players since The Divison is a rather time-consuming game and a lot of us have spent a lot of time of our life building our characters in this game.

I would like to start a petition for Ubisoft to take back the decision of rollback the game status unless they can present a clear and open method of how they are actually deciding who shall be punished. The Division has a rather healthy community who really liked the game and it's really ashamed to see it dissolve because of a decision made without listening to players' voices.
