Why this petition matters

Started by Tajinder Singh

I Tajinder Singh, President - Bharatiya Chaalak Ekta Sangh, request you to read the below painful story of a driver and share this petition so that both the driver and the passenger get relief.

One sign-share of yours will ensure that the problems of the drivers reach the cab companies.

*******

My name is Arun and I am an Uber cab driver. I pick up customers from various locations in Delhi and drop them to their respective destination on a daily basis. Recently, I have had a lot of customers leaving upset as I have been refusing to turn on the car ac. And that is why I decided to start this petition.

Ola and Uber cab drivers want the said companies to pay them fair wages. The fuel hike is affecting us as much as it is affecting everyone else. A customer travelling 5-6 kilometers pays around Rs 150 for the ride. But we get a base fare of around Rs 46 for the same ride. For any additional distance, we get Rs 6.70. Does that sound fair to you?

Even an auto runs at Rs 10 per kilometer. Without AC and at a fuel consumption that is one-fourth of that of a cab. Our current expenditure on fuel is Rs 11.50 per kilometer, and we earn 6.70 per kilometer. So how do we survive?

We want the fare for non-ac taxis to be Rs 18 per kilometre and the cost of ac taxis to be Rs 23 per kilometre.

Please sign and share this petition so that our demand can reach Uber and Ola and the driver and customer both get justice.
