Summer graduates of The University of Alabama at Birmingham were just informed on August 2nd that we will not be able to walk on August 13th and 14th. There were no alternatives given such as allowing only the graduates to attend and streaming it to our families or even moving the event outside and limiting attendees. In the eyes of many, this decision is unfair and so short notice. The intent of this petition is to allow the university to see how unfair it is to the graduates to not accommodate us on such short notice and allow us to walk on our proposed graduation dates.
