Olivia Tunison started this petition to U.S. Soccer Federation

On March 8th, 2019, ironically also International Women’s Day, all twenty-eight members of the Women’s U.S National Soccer Team filed a class action gender discrimination lawsuit against U.S. Soccer with the accusations of gender discrimination. The lawsuit came shortly after the team won the 2019 World Cup, and although the big world cup win did not start the revolution on the topic of a gender pay gap it added lots of heat and intensity to the situation between the team and the U.S Soccer Federation. The affair has sparked an uprising in not only the soccer community but other disciplines of sports and careers nationally. Enormous amounts of people have been revolted by the issue of salaries of these athletes and expect the U.S Soccer Federation to make the issue just and set the act towards change into motion for equal pay among genders.

This pay gap is seen as unjust by many athletes, fans, and supporters due to the strenuous amount of effort the women’s team puts into their athletics adding up to equal, if not greater amounts of work as their male counter parts exhibit. Though the U.S. Soccer Federation believes it is justifiable to pay female athletes substantially less solely based on their gender, we the fans, as advocates of these women need to be determined and demand change towards earning this women equal pay, treatment, and recognition in order to create fairness between gender roles.

By signing this petition you are setting a foot down for equal pay and women's rights!
