Tell Congress to Support EV Tax Credit
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500.
Congress is proposing in H.R. 1 to eliminate the federal tax credit for electric vehicles at the end of 2017. Prematurely ending this tax credit will threaten hundreds of thousands of American jobs, weaken American technology leadership, and stifle innovation and customer choice.
We urge you to say NO to the repeal of the federal tax credit for electric vehicles.
Please oppose the repeal of the Section 30D credit for electric vehicles, as proposed in H.R. 1. This credit has accelerated adoption of EVs throughout the United States, creating jobs and spurring investment in advanced transportation technology.
Continuing the successful Section 30D credit supports a growing American industry at a crucial time in its development. Since 2008, Section 30D has proven an effective policy that has propelled the U.S. electric drive industry to a segment of more than 215,000 jobs. Over the last ten years, the credit lowered the barrier of adoption for nearly 700,000 electric vehicles sold nationwide.
The benefits of electric vehicle market growth are proven and far-reaching: EVs are fueled by the local grid, increase energy security and fuel diversity, and protect public health with fewer well-to-wheel emissions. New partnerships and financing models are enabling the buildout of charging infrastructure to support electric vehicles.
Prematurely ending this tax credit will threaten hundreds of thousands of American jobs, weaken American leadership in advanced transportation technology, and stifle innovation and customer choice.
I urge you to say NO to the repeal of the federal tax credit for electric vehicles.
