Tax breaks for the millions who owed money this year

I expected to owe a little money in taxes this year because of new tax laws, but I was shocked when I learned I owed $2500.
I am a disabled veteran who depends on my social security and military pension for income, while pursuing a college degree, so this type of bill is not easy for me to handle. I had to take out a loan from my credit union and increase my monthly deductions by $300 to make sure this doesn’t happen next year. I’m now in more debt and have less income.
I’m not the only one having this experience. We were promised tax cuts by President Trump and Congress, but many of us owe more money than ever. They said we got more in our paychecks, but when you do the math, it just doesn’t add up. And the IRS says more than 4 million of us will owe money that didn’t owe money in the past. The fact is I’m paying more than people making a lot more money. That’s just wrong.
The middle class has been squeezed enough. It’s time for Congress to deliver on their promise and give lower and middle class people real tax cuts that make a difference in our lives.
