The company painted a rosy picture about contract growing, so I bought chicken houses using my family farm as collateral. Now, I am deeply in debt and I have to keep farming to stay afloat. If I go under, I lose it all. My inheritance and everything I own, gone. That’s what these contracts between farmers and the industry are; they’re like a lifetime of servitude.

Corporations are evil. And this is just 1 of too many that have put shareholder profits /greed/money over our warth, our animals, our health, and are ribbing our children of their future. The American Dream, is dead. This discusting immoral way of doing business HAS TO BE STOPPED.

I grew up on a farm in Mississippi which included raising chickens commercially. I saw first hand how the farmer is totally beholden to the big chicken industry. The farmer needs this protection. Please support farmer safeguards under USDA’s Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA).

Farmers should be able to get equal pay as well as enough feel like they're signing a contract of lifelong servitude to big companies. They also should be able to voice their concerns and report injustice done and wrongdoing done by the companies like and not reporting diseased and deformed chickens.

Chicken farmers are at the mercy of the chicken companies, and I agree that the farmers have to politic hard with the companies to keep contracts and make a profit. It is a lifestyle and not a job for most Chicken farmers.
