Rename Fort Polk & The Joint Readiness Training Center, located in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, to honor retired Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honore, a native of Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana and graduate of Southern University and A&M College, for his distinguished service in the U.S. Army and his contributions to his home state of Louisiana, including his much-heralded service as commander of Joint Task Force Katrina which was responsible for coordinating military relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina–affected areas across the Gulf Coast.
