The reason why this is such a big problem is because people litter and put recyclables into landfills which causes marine species to ingest or they are entangled by plastic debris, which causes severe injuries and deaths. The International Union for Conservation of Nature statistics say that, “at least 8 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, and make up 80% of all marine debris from surface waters to deep-sea sediments.” But we have tools that we can use to work on this issue. Recycling and reusing of plastic materials are the most effective actions available to reduce the environmental impacts of open landfills and open-air burning that are often practiced to manage domestic waste. I need you to be aware next week of how many plastic bottles or plastic materials you use. You will realize it is necessary to give up plastic bags and use reusable ones, avoid using plastic bottles and start investing in a refillable water bottle, avoid littering, and recycling what you can. If we do not take strict actions now, we will lose the chance of seeing our future generations flourish forever. Everyone must come together for the same causes, as we are inhabitants of this planet firstly and then anything else. Let's save our lovely planet. Thank you.
