Reduce the Proliferation of Guns: A Call for a National School Boycott to Force Action.

Now is the time. We must stop the escalating carnage of our High School and College students due to gun violence. Congress must act now to enact laws to eliminate the availability of military style guns such as the AR-15 within the United States. This petition is to the U.S. Congress to take immediate legislative action. But, as the originator of this petition, I also call on all High School and College students and teachers to participate in a national coordinated boycott of their school classes to emphasize their overwhelming demand for congressional action. I am a Vietnam war veteran and have seen the power of a national college student boycott in 1969 in greatly helping to bring the Vietnam war to an end through this dramatic force of grass-roots political pressure. It is the only way left. Congress has repeatedly failed to act in the face of dozens of school slaughters.
Leadership is needed to coordinate and schedule this much needed attention-getting school boycott from a national level. Who will boldly step up for their country and our innocent children? Who has the courage to finally face up to the ugly dominance of the NRA in our lives? Will it be someone such as Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut, Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts or past Congresswoman Gabby Giffords? Or will it be some other hero who will emerge to lead this boycott and force real change in the Congress on this out-of-control gun issue? Please, our country needs someone now.
