Susan Byrne started this petition to U.S. Senate

1 in 20 (by conservative estimates) newborns suffer prenatal alcohol exposure that causes severe and irreversible developmental disabilities.  This epidemic needs a national response.

State systems of care are largely non-existent.  Those that exist are largely uninformed, underfunded, and ineffective. Fragmented care at state levels is not adequate to address a national epidemic.  We must build awareness, build systems of care, and build prevention services for this preventable spectrum disorder (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: FASD) by means of a national response.

Please sign to request that the Senate fully fund the FASD RESPECT ACT that will be introduced at the July 2021 session.  The FASD RESPECT ACT is the effort of a national coalition sponsored by the National Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (NOFAS).

Tell your personal story!  You are not alone.  If you know 20 people, you know someone with FASD and that affects them as well as their families and friends.
