Let’s Get the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health care and Social Service Workers Act (H1195) Passed!
Everyday our fellow healthcare workers and social workers endure the violence of clients, patients, and other staff members in their faculties. There is no official standard of what to do when healthcare workers and social workers confront violence situations. The confrontation of these violence altercations may negatively affect the well-being of healthcare workers and social workers.
Workplace Violence Prevention for Health care and Social Service Workers Act ensures all facilities including hospitals, in/out patient clinics, community clinics, nursing homes, correctional facilities, and other facilities relating to healthcare/social services are protected against workplace violence under a federal standard. This act guarantees thorough investigations for each workplace violent incident, proactive safety measures, and an annual reporting of workplace violence.
The Workplace Violence Prevention for Health care and Social Service Workers Act successfully passed in House of Representatives and is waiting to be voted on in the Senate. We encourage everyone to reach out their respected Senators to get this act passed.
