Help show your support for a very important piece of legislation the Stronger Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act.  It helps provide funding and resources for programs that help our nation's most vulnerable.  According to the National Child Abuse Coalition children who have been abused and neglected have higher rates of drug abuse, suicide, depression, teen pregnancy and school failure.  In 2018 there were 678,000 substantiated cases of child abuse and neglect, which will cost tax payers an estimated $830,928 over the life of each child.  Support centers all over the country have been receiving funding to help support these children by providing evidence-based family strengthening services.  Advocacy centers help local law enforcement and child protective services provide trauma interviews and counseling to children who have been victimized.  These programs and services are vital for the protection and treatment of at risk children but in order to continue offering these and many other services stronger legislation is needed.  Please join us in letting your local and state elected officials know your feelings and tell them to support the Stronger Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act.
