Decades of evidence show that climate change is costing billions more in damages and is destroying life-sustaining natural resources.  We are witnessing record wildfires, droughts, floods, and hurricanes.  And these and other extreme weather events are predicted to get worse if we do not urgently and significantly reduce the carbon in our thin atmosphere.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in just 150 years the carbon dioxide in our air has increased by almost 50 percent, and is higher than it has been in over 800,000 years! 

According to our National Security Advisor in 2019 Climate Change is our country's greatest security threat.  We are already witnessing climate migration globally, and competition locally for dwindling natural resources like fresh water.

Locally, record wildfires are creating a decline in air quality.  This multiplies the threat of climate change by eliminating hundreds of 1,000s of carbon-sequestering trees.

According to the recent report by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the most authorized source of global climate science that has accurately predicted the impacts from climate change for 3 decades, we will see worsening conditions.  And these are easily explained in Laws of Physics.

America's great culture of capitalism and hard work has allowed us to lead the world in innovations and the economy for decades.  But our economy has been at the mercy of fossil fuels.  Profits and economic growth through our current capitalism-model would require increasing carbon emissions. This, of course, is presenting a major hurdle to reducing carbon pollution and reducing climate change.

Why not allow capitalism to instead reduce carbon emissions?  By placing a fee on carbon our free-market economy will reduce carbon emissions without any government regulation!  The consensus of dozens of Nobel Laureates in Economy agree that this is the best approach to significantly reduce carbon emissions. 

With the urgent warnings to act on climate change, and given this pivotal time in rebuilding our economy and infrastructure, NOW IS THE TIME TO ENACT ROBUST POLICY that will create significant reductions in carbon emissions and help us to lead the world in transitioning to a more responsible and sustainable civilization.

Please support and endorse one of the several current proposals before you that include a carbon fee.  The highest recommended approach to reducing carbon emissions and preserving natural resources for generations is a fee on the pollution that is destroying these natural resources.
