Encourage U.S. Congress to support and pass the 2017 Dream Act

On September 5th, 2017, the Trump administration announced the termination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA. This decision has directly impacted the thousands of Dreamers who have grown up and identified as our fellow Americans, now being forced out of the country they have called their home. While DACA has been effectively ended, there is still a chance to push for and encourage positive immigration reform.
The Dream Act of 2017, introduced in both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, is a bipartisan bill that would create a path for previous DACA or temporary protected status (TPS) recipients to obtain U.S. citizenship under a set of conditions including attending school or enlisting in the workforce. Recent polls have shown that three-quarters of Americans support the provisions of the bill, but it will take more than our approval to make the necessary change. We need our lawmakers to mirror our sentiments and pass the Dream Act to provide relief for immigrant youth who have done nothing but positively contribute to our nation.
Our government has the chance to potentially secure the future of over 1 million hard-working young students and protect them from the threat of deportation. It is time for our congressmen and women to work together from both sides of the aisle and pass the Dream Act of 2017.
Please sign this petition to encourage the implementation of a road to citizenship for the hundreds of thousands of American immigrant youth who need our support.
