No property taxes for active and retired military

Currently, active and retired members of the US military pays property taxes on their variproperties. It is my belief that if a person served and retired from any branch of the US military, that individual should be exempt from paying property taxes on the home he or she resides in. In addition, any person who is actively serving in any branch of the military should be exempt from paying property taxes on the home he or she resides in. If a service member should leave the military before completing 20 years of service, that person will lose all taxes exemption benefits. Any service member that is discharged from the military before 20 years of service due to a service connected injury/illness, that service member will be eligible for this benefit. The benefit would only apply to one property and that service member MUST be residing in that property in order to be qualify for this exemption. I strongly believe that this would not only be beneficial to the service member, but will also be a strong recruiting asset for the US military.
