THE PROBLEM
Every national park in the United States, at the time of writing this, has banned drones. For that, you can thank the National Park Service for this drone ban that was implemented back in 2013. This means that recreational and commercial drone flyers alike CANNOT fly their drones in these places. All us drone pilots want to do is capture the beautiful scenery that national parks provide us from a different point of view! As for commercial pilots, they make a living off of drone flying and photography, and they can't do their job if they're so restricted as to what they can do! The only people who have privilege are those massive corporations like CNN, NBC, etc.

THE SOLUTION
Drones have changed A LOT over the past 7 years. Almost every single drone on Amazon has a return-to-home function via GPS in case you lose signal, as well as many other failsafe systems like autonomous obstacle avoidance. Clearly, it's time for a change. The only one who can change this is the National Park Service, which has jurisdiction over all national parks in the United States.

The NPS must:
- No longer completely ban drones
- Control the number of drones being flown at a time
- Have pilots sign up online to fly at a particular date and time
- Require drone flyers to check-in at front desk to receive a card valid for that day and time
- Regularly patrol the park for any unauthorized/registered drone pilots

With these changes, not only will we be able to allow drone pilots to fly in these BEAUTIFUL national parks, but we can also make sure that there aren't too many in the air disrupting the experience for other visitors. Sign this petition now to tell the NPS to make these changes for the better of drones!
