Mount Rushmore is a monument to colonialism and genocidal conquest. It rests on lands sacred to the Lakota. In 1980, The Supreme Court case United States vs. Sioux Nation of Indians ruled that the land on which Mt. Rushmore exists, the Black Hills, was stolen from the Lakota, yet the US government has refused to return the land. The land must be returned to the Lakota.

The destruction of this bloodstained monument should be marked by the joyous creation of a new monument on different lands. This new monument shall depict Zuko and Sokka, heroes from the 2005 show Avatar: the Last Airbender. Their statues will represent hope and the fight for a just America.
