I often ride at Hains Point. I've definitely experienced aggressive driving by the buses. They have no reason to be driving in a place designated for recreation, cycling, and walking.

Living in DC right now for a couple of years and I very much treasure the park at Hains Point. Few parks exist like this for runners, bikers and walkers - sad if it would be taken over as a parking lot - of which we have plentiful.

Hains Point is an incredible resource for sports, and recreation in DC and benefits a huge, diverse range of DC metro area residents. Allowing buses to park and idle there in violation of posted rules creates an unsafe situation that degrades enjoyment of the park for all.

Buses treat Hains Point like a parking lot. Their driving is erratic and dangerous; they idle their engines making it hard to breathe the air in the area. Buses should not even be allowed in the park.

Buses don't park parallel, they angle in the parallel spots leaving the back end of the bus sticking out into the travel lane making it unsafe for vehicles and pedestrians and cyclists.
