Demand the end of the Deportation and State Abuse of the Detained Somalis in South Florida

In December 2017, the case of the 92 Somali deportees was brought to a brief and momentary national light. They were being deported by U.S. Immigration, Customs and Enforcement to be separated from their families as per the increasing aggressive crackdown on Black, Muslim immigrant populations.
The flight was ordered back to Miami where the Somalis are currently detained at both Glades and the Krome Detention Center. They have cited "slave-like conditions" during their flight such as being cuffed for more than 40 hours and forced to urinate on themselves. They continue to cite ongoing abuses at both Glades and Krome Detention centers; at Glades, they are being pepper-sprayed, called slave names, physically abused and frequently denied access to medical hygiene.
We are holding a demonstration at the Krome Detention center on April 7th at 3 pm. We will hold another one at Glades at another date to be announced.
This petition is only a start and an opportunity for all unable to commit to the task of a demonstration. We will not stand in silence as Black Muslim immigrants are beaten as non human entities. Our conscience will not allow this injustice, an anti-Black and anti-Muslim manifestation, to continue without confronting the white supremacist structures that continue to terrorize and dematerialize Black Muslim beings.
