Talking "The Slow Walk" against hate

Bill Orton
Long Beach, CA

May 27, 2017 — Four score and seven years ago, Herbert Hoover was President.

Fear sent us to our knees, as the economy collapsed, into a Great Depression.

Hatred rose its ugly head, as the people who worked came to despise the one-third of ordinary Americans unemployed, hungry, riding trains as hobos, and living in shacks.

The was no racial or gender equality.

Black couples, walking children from church, would see angry drivers revving an engine, and pushing the door lock.

"The Slow Walk" would inch the family onto the crosswalk, as drivers looked with fury. Feet slowed as honking grew louder.

WE NOW FACE HATRED DEEPER THAN ANYONE ALIVE WOULD HAVE KNOWN.

We have no Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

When FDR took office, his first words delivered by radio -- often in a dark and cold room -- he told the American people, that, "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself."

That's where we are today.

The new president locks our people into the spiral of hate and fear, as we fight one another on a cliff. Each fear falling off the ledge. Both smack and slap and yell. And fighting so hard, each may pull the other off the cliff together.

We need Franklin Roosevelt, but even 42 43 44 would show better love to the American people than 45, who seems to weird the hammer of hatred and the knife of fear.

FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT IS DEAD, BUT HIS GREATNESS SHALL LAST FOREVER.

When Mr. Roosevelt died, he had been President for 13 years. He saved ordinary Americans, by rebuilding our collapsed economy, laying down the Social Security system, and altering how government treats us all. Then, as the world fell into a global war of hatred, Mr. Roosevelt led this nation, and the earth, to victory against murderous tyrants.

When he died, his opponents wanted to carved hatred across his name, so they jammed through a change in our Constitution, to say that never will the be another Roos-e-velt.

LET US THANK FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT, BY REPEALING THE AMENDMENT THAT GOT JAMMED THROUGH WITH HATRED.

Yes, if we lift the "TWO TERM LIMIT" of that hateful act, then people you may hate yourself might run again.

-- 42 and 44 could jump into a campaign where they face vibrant progressives, for a nomination battle of who loves the people most.

-- If 43 takes on 45 in an open fight for the GOP primary, then the Big Hair Man will swing his hammer hard, to spew hatred and fear.

Who wins?

The American people.
