Insulin is too expensive for common people to afford. Diabetes is a disease and insulin is necessary for a large portion of those affected. A typical Type 2 diabetic, who is insulin dependant, would cost just over $3600.00 per year, $300.00 per month, or $10.00 per day. A typical Type 1 diabetic, which are Insulin dependant, could cost over $6000.00 per year, $500.00, or $ 16.67 per day. There are discount programs through the Insulin manufacturers that can lower these costs dramatically, but it is only for one year. There has to be a way to lower the cost of Insulin on a permanent basis! As an example, Narcan is an overdose drug and it's available everywhere at no cost to save lives. 30,300,000 people were diabetic in 2015, over 7,000,000 are not diagnosed, and over 252,000 died from being diabetic. Together we can make a difference! Please help!
