Mary Bowlson started this petition to U.S. House of Representatives and

It is my firm belief that everyone in our community matters and where we spend our money matters as well therefore I petition today that we change the Lemon Law in order to close the loophole that allows businesses to falsely sell used cars and make monetary gains off of someone else's loss.

For example buying a car from a dealership who will later knowingly profit from the customer's sale, through extensive repairs needed after purchase, is a loophole we as a community should work on closing.

It is my belief that there are others who may have experienced this same misfortune I feel that in order to make a change we must first be the change. So help me please, to change the Lemon Law a law that allows dealers to sometimes get away with selling faulty products, maybe one day this change will make someone else's purchase fair and equal.

During my experience I purchased a car from a dealer named Trst Motors(ironic but true) in Jacksonville Florida I bought an "as is" car for cash and 3 days later my car did not run my engine had blown my starter punctured a hole through the engine and there were also other extensive problems with the car that I did not get rectified with the dealer because I was refused the sale of a warranty. Since the dealer knew without a warranty they will not be liable for any repairs they then proceeded to charge me an extra $2,200 on top of my original $3200 purchase.

So this is the reason that I feel the law needs to be changed because from my own personal experience I see that there is a loophole that is being exploited and in this regard, if we don't change it it will continue to occur. Thank you.
