Implement the metric system in the US, for measurements keeping the same international standard followed in most countries of the world. Imperial system, a remnant of the measurement system used by the British Empire, is no longer used even in the country it was originated in.

US moved away from other systems like the currency measurement system in favour of the decimal system very early on and rest of the world followed the US. Even pounds switched to the decimal system. Now it is time for the US to switch to the more useful metric system which is almost similar to the currency decimal system that US employed so early on.
