Why this petition matters

"Did it hurt when you fell down from heaven?" a statement of poked fun, now turned grim and insufferable. Immigration has long been an overlooked problem within socioeconomic paradigms, and in the most recent takeover of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the desperation of people showed with each and every plane arrival; immigrants hanging on one of the wings of the plane, hanging on until inevitably losing grip, or fainting due to the extremely high altitudes as they fall to their deaths. All so to avoid the terror that is the Taliban.

Despite recent relief efforts to free them from the anarchic reign of the Taliban, the situation doesn't differ when they get there in as much as they're inside the borders of the country they now reside, and outside Afghanistan. They still continue to live under insufferable living conditions, unable to eat at least 3 meals a day or sustain a stable foundation for their homes or feel the privilege of a good quality life they deserve.

This petition isn't just a call to help boost the living conditions of the Afghans and countless immigrants who fled the Taliban's iron fist, but is also a reality check. A resurfacing of an issue that's begun to get swept under the rug. This is to help people realize that they've been abandoned in a totalitarian society, an oppressive state where even when they've crossed the ocean to flee, it's hard to gauge whether they are truly free.

For the people who've been abandoned call out to us in desperation, it's time to heed the call for the people, and to put the word human in the word humanity.

We need better safe spaces for these immigrants.

We need to let them live better outside a totalitarian reign.
