I am an addictions counselor and I have to see many people destroyed by addiction. This has to stop. Doctors have to be more conscious about what they prescribe.

We have lost many celebrities to this epidemic . . . for the simple fact that they were in pain and/or couldn't get a decent night's sleep.

The problem is there are regulations that disable increase of opioid doses for their condition and when people start feeling opioid tolerance withdrawal they try and treat these new symptoms with benzo medication which actually does not sync well to begin with.
It is already well known to most to not combine the two but Dr's still prescribe in this way.
Often, suffering patients can no longer get any relief and end up taking more rather then suffer the agony of weening down/withdrawal which I might add is way worse then a "flu" and is endless physically/mentally for several months.
This is an epidemic because it is near impossible to get off both these medications let alone just one without debilitating and disabling side effects..... it goes on of course to require more medications to treat new symptoms - CATCH 22 Big Pharma.

We need cures not brain control into misery.

Realistically, long term chronic pain patients have no way out
