Expedited process for J1 waiver physicians

Conrad 30 J-11 visa waiver program attracts a large number of physicians each year. After residency training many physicians apply for Waiver to work in many underserved areas as primary care physicians or specialist and many areas depends on highly skilled physicians.
Starting April 3rd the cancellation of the premium H1B processing for physicians will delay the process for visa and may have severe financial and emotional stress on us. The process for J waiver is very difficult and takes time starting from the application then the state approval which can take couple month. Then the department of state which take also about 6-8 weeks. Then USCIS approval can take around 2 months for approval. Also, we have to file for the new medical license which can take up to two months or may be more. The cancellation of the premium processing will add more time. The delay can determine when we can begin to serve patients in under-served areas across the US and harm patients and communities.
I am one of many physicians who are concerned about these changes and the possible financial, emotional and stressful waiting. We also concerned of how long these healthcare facilities can wait for us, so we might have to restart over the process again. We have been serving the community and working very hard throughout years of residency. With the national shortage of physicians in many rural areas, we can provide needed healthcare coverage.
