Facing a raging pandemic with seemingly no end in sight, we begin the year 2022. In these unprecedented times, we need global participation and cooperation more than ever. 

Based on the rules of fair competition, peace, humanity, and reconciliation, the Olympic Game is a meaningful opportunity to harness the power of sport. By uniting the best winter-sport athletes of the entire world in a peaceful and respectful competition without discrimination, the Olympic Games will foster an atmosphere of peace, development, resilience, tolerance, and understanding. Ultimately strengthening the collective bond of humanity. It is unfair to use the Olympic game as a mean to accomplish political purposes.

On Dec 02, 2021, the United Nation had adopted an Olympic truce for the 2022 Winter Olympics, and this resolution “underlines the importance of cooperation among Member States to collectively implement the values of the Olympic Truce around the world, and emphasizes the important role of the International Olympic Committee, the International Paralympic Committee and the United Nations in this regard”. The 2022 Winter Olympic Games captured a confident yet determined declaration of global cooperation. 

The diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics will not resolve any issues and will offer nothing but uncertainty. It is a rhetorical game played by sinophobic politicians to satisfy their political interests. By manipulating, misdirecting, and confusing the public, the American absence sabotaged the sacracy of the Olympics, sacrificed the interest of professional athletes and sports lovers, and hinders the triumph of humanity over the pandemic.

It’s time for us to take action and call upon the US government to stop pursuing the diplomatic boycott and to support the Winter Olympics. As Alexandre Dumas put it "united we stand, divided we fall." In times of need, a division is the last thing we want to see. We call upon peace-loving people from all over the world to join us, to firmly oppose the diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics. To protect our common interest of global cooperation against the pandemic, and to save the Olympics from political interests.
