US Citizen started this petition to U.S. Department of State and

Forbes reports the previous administration reduced *LEGAL* immigration by over 50% over the past 5 years with policies such as travel bans and the public charge rule. These bans and rules did not stop couples from falling in love and making life commitments.

The USCIS immigration stage is taking twice as long. As an example, spouses of citizens are supposed to have immediate Visas available to them but families are waiting 12+ months for USCIS to spend 1 day reviewing and approving thorough applications.

After USCIS approves, the NVC has to verify additional paperwork and enforce the public charge rule. This step is taking 3+ months.

Finally, embassies around the world have to interview beneficiaries before granting the visa. The U.S. Embassy in Bogota Colombia has hosted a couple of Facebook livestream sessions to supposedly answer questions about why they have been unable to resume immigration interviews since stopping in March. 500 questions in the last session were all answered with the same cut and paste response explaining the safety concern during the pandemic. The embassy pointed out they *are* scheduling interviews for tourist visas. How can an interview for a tourist visa be safer than one for an immigration visa? The embassy pointed out they are considering immigration interviews for emergency situations. How is any family being separated for 15+ months not an emergency? The embassy has had 10 months to figure out how to safely and efficiently proceed with immigration visa interviews.

Now that a new administration is in place, we need your help to reunite with our families. Please help us!
