Homelessness, among other problems, is one of extreme prevalence in Austin, Texas. Increasing the minimum wage is a definite step forward in helping address this issue and working towards fixing the problem. Through more incentive, this could help combat unemployment in general. If people are more inclined to work due to higher pay, hopefully some progress can be made.
