Property management companies and landlords should not access an apartment if the tenant is either unaware of their presence, does not authorize their visit, or is not given a notice prior. This lack of privacy and safety issue within apartment complexes is regarding the Miya Marcano case. Miya Marcano had her space invaded by a maintenance worker on September 24, 2021 at the complex she lived and worked at, a master key fob was used by the maintenance worker, Armando to access her apartment unannounced and uninvited, resulting in her passing. This could’ve been prevented then and can be prevented now if this law is to be enforced. This law should be named, “Miya Marcano Law”
