Put Fibromyalgia as part of the Disability Act
This petition had 1,690 supporters
Since I found out that I have Fibromylgia I was happy that I found alot of people have support groups to go to. But what I was disppointed to find is that
1. Fibromylgia is NOT under a Disability Act
2. The word/advertising is not out there enough to inform the public what this syndrome does to a person
3. Theres not enough awareness out there to support Fibromylgia patients
I feel that Fibromylgia are just as important to get noticed as much as Autism, Cancer and all the other diseases. This isn't a life that ANYONE with fibro chooses for themselves...PLEASE BELIEVE THAT! Losing family, friends, money, possessions, relationships, credit ratings...etc. It just goes on and on. Fibromyalgia acts like a flu symptom except it never goes away for us.....were always in pain each and every day. Unfortunately no one has found any causes nor theres a cure for it. With that said, this is why I feel so strongly to get this out there to not only be heard but the fact that this is really affecting us miserably.
Fibromyalgia is a common and complex chronic pain disorder that affects people physically, mentally and socially. It is characterized by chronic widespread pain, multiple tender points, abnormal pain processing, sleep disturbances, fatigue and often psychological distress. For those with severe symptoms, fibromyalgia can be extremely debilitating and interfere with basic daily activities.
Im asking those who have Fibro or know someone who has Fibro to sign this petition with as many people as possible to show the law makers that we too are just as important as the other diseases that are out there.
