Schools should not be opened until the pandemic is no longer a major threat to lives and community health!

Teachers have the right to a safe workplace and students have the right to a truly equitable education. None of this is possible without support at the national and local level to contain disease, build infrastructure to support equitable digital literacy and fund schools fully.

Children, teachers, and school staff should not be guinea pigs. Not enough is know about this deadly virus to risk long term health problems or lives. Learning can be done long distance until it is safe. It isn’t ideal, but it is necessary. School buildings are Petri dishes without a deadly worldwide pandemic. Health and safety needs to be the first consideration.

Obvious reasons we are not in a good place to return to the germ factories that are school buildings. It’s no ones fault but let’s face it we’re not there yet. I think it is irresponsible to force people back right now with the virus still running rampant.

I'm a high-risk, immunocompromised teacher in a poor area and I did not sign a contract to die just to make my district look like it isn't financially suffering.
