P.R. should be able to receive assistance from foreign & domestic people without all of the RED tape. It seems to me these humanitarian efforts would tie the bonds with more countries together with the U.S. instead of alienating them. Rather than accepting The help with open arms, you make things more difficult. Rather than sowing seeds of friendship you alienate & make enemies & sow seeds of distrust in us & others. The U.S. should be ashamed. You look really bad by making poor judgements, moving slowly, scandalous behaviors & forcing Puerto Ricans who have fought wars along side of you for DECADES to suffer. The U.S. do not deserve the blood shed & the Puerto Rican lives given to help strengthen your superior position in this world. I feel embarrassed to be considered an American and so sorry for you as I watch you degrading at the seams and destroying yourselves from within. May God bless America. You NEED it.

The Jones Act should have never existed in the first place, but it does and now it should be ended.

Our fellow citizens are suffering, and while there are governmental and humanitarian efforts being directed toward Puerto Rico, we need to make sure there are absolutely no impediments to getting aid and supplies to the island. As Puerto Ricans rebuild and the country recovers, they should be free to do so with the benefit of lower prices and increased competition for the goods they will need for the foreseeable future.
