On November 24, 2007 my husband, Fernando De La Garza, was arrested by Perryton TX, Sheriff’s Department, due to driving a vehicle without a driver’s license. He was asked for his Driver’s License and his social security number, which Fernando could not provide since he had no documentation. Ever since the year of 2007, Fernando had been fighting in court in order to be given a opportunity to stay in the United States. Unfortunately, on February 2, 2010, Fernando was given a court order to leave the country in 30 days and on March 4, 2010 signed his voluntary departure at the American Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Since Spring break of 2010, I have traveled back and forth from the United States to Mexico. On February 1, 2011, we got married and sent our paper work to Immigration on March 7, 2011.

Fernando was taken to the United States in 1985 at the age of 11 months. He lived in the United States up until 25 years of age. He graduated from Guymon High School and attended South West Kansas Technical School for 2 years and graduated with a certificate in auto body collision repair and a certificate in welding. He has no criminal record and only wishes to be able to provide stability the way a husband should and to be near his family. For those of you who are far away from your loved ones, you and I both know it is really difficult. Those of you who have not experienced separation from your loved ones, I ask you to put yourself in my position. Living in Mexico is very tough. To give you an idea, the hourly wage rate is about $1.63 which adds up to about $65.00 USD a week. To fill up the truck with gas it costs $75.00 USD. The cost of living in Mexico is not cheap. We depend on my parents, mother and father-in-law and sister-in-law who reside in the United States for financial help. It's a very stressful life and I only wish that the Immigration officer that will review our waiver to grant Fernando an opportunity to live in the Unites States with me. As his wife, I would want nothing more than to finally live in the country we were both raised in with our families near by. We currently live in Delicias, Chihuahua where we are faced with people being murdered weekly, even daily. Chihuahua is ranked with the second highest kidnapping rates in the country. My husband has lost 3 cousins to the organized crime and were brutally gunned down in broad day-light. We have been limited to only thinking so much about our future. We can't think about forming a family because of our instability and financial troubles. So, I ask you whole heartedly to please take into account all of the previously stated and sign this Petition so that my husband, Fernando De La Garza, is given the opportunity to return to the United States with me. Only then, we will be able to start a family and be at peace without worrying about the violence and financial problems. More than anything, we would like to be able to have a prosperous marriage and life that we both dreamed of having.

Thank you for your time, please make a difference in our lives.
God Bless You,

Anahy De La Garza
