Verify KNMI on twitter
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) is the Dutch national weather service that continuously updates inhabitants of the Netherlands on the state of their environment (weather, earthquakes, etc.).
As an institution that has such an important task, it is important that in this digital world that they get verified on Twitter. This is to avoid confusion by potential bad actors and to also have it be clear to readers that certain tweets are made from a point of authority when it comes to environmental developments.
The KNMI themselves recognize the importance of this based on this tweet they sent out on the 23rd of September where they indicate that they have been actively trying to get verified on Twitter but have been repeatedly rejected.
If Twitter does not fix this, they may be directly responsible for misinforming people and causing harm to the people residing in the Netherlands. So sign this to get onboard getting twitter to do the right thing and #verifyKNMI!
