The worldwide coverage garnered is in large part due to the valiant efforts of Movimiento San Isidro on the ground in Cuba.

This movement, lead by artist Luis Manuel Alcántara, is one of the essential organized efforts of our time. The movement utilizes art and the freedom of expression and social influence to collectivize those whose voices have been muted, those whose voices have been criminalized, and those whose voices have been prevented from articulating the realities of a life lived in Cuba.
