#WeAreTwitter Campaign Update
Dec 7, 2016 — Since #WeAreTwitter took off in October, the idea of transforming a for-profit platform into a user-owned co-op has circled the globe. We’ve been profiled in WIRED, Der Spiegel, and many other publications around the world. Our powerful idea is getting out. See our media scrapbook here:
Now, after months of organizing and discussions around what it might mean to #BuyTwitter, here are two ways to help make it a reality:
1) Join an online discussion moderated by Douglas Rushkoff, Friday at 9:30am Pacific Time.

2) Turn discussion into action by collaboratively writing a business plan we can take to Twitter! Email email@example.com if you want to participate, in-person in the Bay Area or remotely.
The title of Friday's discussion is "#BuyTwitter and Beyond" because Twitter is not the only game in town. After getting excited about the #BuyTwitter thought experiment, many of us want to explore more possibilities than just Twitter itself. We recognize there are many hurdles to overcome, while affirming that there's real value in building capacity. Wherever this effort takes us, we want it to be a few steps towards the next opportunity to create a user-owned co-op!
