While we respect the right to freedom of speech, it must be acknowledged that such rights come with certain responsibilities.  The right to free speech does not include the right to incite violence, lawlessness, or make statements that are seditious in their nature.

President Trump has acted irresponsibly by making statements and false accusations which have incited violence, and insurrection.  He has made statements that encourage lawmakers and citizens to undermine the constitution.

On January 6th, 2020, violent protesters stormed the US Capitol.  There is no doubt that this was incited, at least in part, by President Trump’s false statements, which have encouraged lawlessness and sedition.

We hereby call on social media companies to immediately ban President Trump from their platforms on a permanent basis.
