In today's online world huge numbers of children, some as young as 7, access pornography, sometimes by accident and sometimes on purpose. Parents can use various means to attempt to prevent this but there is a huge breach in this line of defence.

Unlike other social media platforms, Twitter allows users to post hard-core pornography clips, which are not picked up by Internet Service Providers' parent control software or any other safeguard. Clips can be up to 3 minutes in length and are not monitored for abuse, violence or the exploitation of participants. You don't need an account to view this material and, in any case, it is well known children can easily fake their age to get an account.

We must call on Twiter to stand with other platforms and ban this content from being posted and accessed. Children's access to porn is a huge problem in society, posing a threat to future generations. It may never be eradicated if they seek it out, however actions such as this can make access more difficult and prevent our kids stumbling across it by accident.
