David Mendes started this petition to Twitter (Twitter, Inc. 1355 Market St, Suite 900 San Francisco, CA 94103) and

In light of Twitter's decision to ban Donald Trump indefinitely, the precedent has been set for politicians who act in a prejudiced manner to be removed from the platform indefinitely.

Julius Malema has, over the years, incited violence (instructing his "fighters" to "attack" Clicks branches nationwide - the result being Clicks stores being petrol bombed etc ); hinted at the killing of white people (but not right now, according to his interview) and bussed in masses of his supporters to flood a town mourning the loss of a young farmer, singing racially motivated (prejudiced) songs outside of the courthouse.

These are but a few of the incidents that have taken place under his leadership of South Africa's third largest political party, and this doesn't even take into account the disruptive and, at times, violent displays in the House of Parliament.

Twitter, we appeal to you to treat Julius Malema with the same standard you have Donald Trump and remove him from your platform indefinitely.

It is the responsibility of Big Tech to ensure that those who violate the rights of others are not granted the privilege of spewing their vitriol on their platforms, making use of them to garner support and ultimately incite violence, encourage prejudice and violate human rights.

If you respect the rule of law, the sanctity of the House of Parliament and the right to equal human rights for every South African citizen, please sign this petition and share it with everyone you know.
