The Tweed Shire Council has given 180 notice of termination to  four parks managers during a covid pandemic Pottsville North, Fingal, Kingscliff North and Tweed Holiday Park.

The reason for the termination of the agreements/ contracts which managers still had approx 6 years agreed signed contracts was that "the decision to terminate the agreement is not a reflection on park managers ability to operate the holiday parks, but on councils desire to end the current agreement and introduce a new agreement. The new agreement will address several existing issues which council believe have created unnecessary risk to the business" none of these issues were brought forward to any of the current park managers by the Tweed Shire Council at any stage.

This was a decision made by Tweed Shire Council to terminate during a pandemic which is unethical and disgusting given one of the managers have served over 21 years at one of the Holiday Parks which is the longest serving managers at any of the Tweed Coast Holiday Parks.

This has left young managers with families, older managers without jobs and not to mention the financial stress, loss of all employees around our local area in a time of hardship and uncertain times this is how the Tweed Council treats its contractors.

The council has advised there are new tenders coming out which will void the previous management from selling the signed contracts and will void there 6 year contracts with Tweed Shire Council.

This petition is to save the previous managers contracts and for the Tweed Shire Council to adhere to the agreements of the already amazing managers that run our Tweed Holiday Parks on the frontline in a professional and experienced code of conduct with years and years of experience between all park managers this decision made by our local Tweed Shire Council without consultation with its current managers is unfair and unethical.

Not at anytime have any of these park managers broken the Tweed Shire Council business protocols if anything these Managers are a credit to the Tweed Shire Council.

Save our local jobs!
