Independence Park is clearly one of the most beautiful parks in Newark, New Jersey. The environment is great, the park is flourishing, and the social scene is even better. This social scene, however, is often cut short, as the park lights are never turned on and as a result, it becomes too dark for kids to play. As someone who goes to Independence Park (almost religiously), I find myself marveling at the fact of what this park could be. I often find myself saying, "This park could be so much better if the lights would turn on when it gets dark". Overall, this park is beautiful and I am sure that so many other people agree. With just one minor change this park could fulfill its potential of what it should be and what it's designed to do, to be a park, a place where kids can have fun and enjoy their time in the community.
