For the past several months, GWU housing has refused to turn on the air conditioning system in Lafayette Hall. With the weather increasing and subsequent increased demand for air conditioning, housing has still refused. Now that it is mid-April and temperatures are reaching the high 80's, it is urgent that air conditioning returns to Lafayette Hall. Students are unable to sleep, work, or live comfortably in their own dorms due to the heat. Some dorms have reached as high at 87.5 degrees in their living areas. It is unacceptable and a borderline health hazard for this to continue.
