Stop the felling of 443 mature exotic trees, 5 are notable, scheduled trees

The community of Mount Richmond Ōtāhuhu, do not want the 443, 5 are notable, mature exotic trees felled using a clear fell method. We would like the existing trees to be used as shelter for the new planting, until they grow. We ask for Tupuna Maunga Authority to wait 60 years before felling the exotics, in order to save the habitat of the existing Native and other birds.
Consultation with the community, and non notifiable resource consent, are at the heart of this issue. The community have not been consulted at a grassroots level, nor have they been notified effectively, or been able to contribute to the planned changes at our local Mountain, which is our Park and Reserve.
Mount Richmond Ōtāhuhu, has already had an entire cliff face cleared of Olive trees. These trees were home to our Native Morepork, and also their nesting area. The clear fell of this area has caused erosion, and is now deemed dangerous due to falling rocks. The Morepork our native owl, had not been sighted after the felling. One Morepork was seen last year, 4 years later.
We are a community which is made up of predominantly Maori and Pacific Island people. We are a low socioeconomic group. Green space is important for the well-being of the people who live here. The Mana and Mauri of those who live here, is being undermined by the actions of Tupuna Maunga Authority, by felling 443 trees at our local Park and Resrve.
