Difidenser Waruyaku started this petition to Tumblr and
Problem
As a result of the announcement that all NSFW content will be banned from Tumblr, a large amount of people have suggested that we log off for 24 hours on the day of the ban. To spread the word, please tell your friends that this action may lead to the lowering of traffic, attracting the attention of tumblr, and it’s owner, Verizon.
Solution
On December 17th, remain logged off for the entire day, and tell your friends who use tumblr to do the same if you support the cause.
Personal story
My online tag is Difidenser, and I am a nsfw artist wishing to grow a source of income through my art, and Tumblr was my go to place when it came to deciding what site to use. Hearing this ban has led me to archive my posts in order to migrate elsewhere, and seeing as the majority of Tumblr will be doing the same, it should be clear to Tumblr that this action was incorrect and a more precise attack on illegal nsfw content should have been taken place, rather than what is occurring now. While some of you may not agree with what I do, it doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be allowed to do so because of the reasons given to us by Tumblr.
