I have suffered from an eating disorder for many years and used to view a lot of the content supporting eating disorders. It is only since starting recovery I can see just how much they contributed to me getting deeper into the disorder. Tumblr has a great recovery network but it can also be very triggering. 'Harmful' sexual images are made harder to find through the security system but images that promote life threatening illnesses and trigger people into relapse are easily available to anyone; this makes no sense to me.

pro ana can really feed the negative body image ideas related with an eating disorder can be extremely triggering when it comes to restricting and binge purging. Pro ana holds no benefit and there is no possible way you can glorify a mental illness because they are awful manipulating things. So much benefit would come from this, no one would be missing out on pictures of malnourished figures and triggering self harm pictures that some how seem to be made to appear 'beautiful'

I have Mental health Issues, I am currently receiving inpatient treatment, and have met people in the system who glorify self harm and other issues, and I wish for this to stop, as it prevents people who truly need help from getting it.

Those who are experiencing any form of mental health disorder, be it depression, anxiety, anorexia, OCD and so on, are in a very fragile state of mind and only need the slightest piece of content to push them over the edge. Tumblr really need to police their site for any such material in order to prevent anyone from suffering because of it.

I am in the process of attempting to recover from anorexia, bulimia, depression and anxiety and i know how triggering posts can be. Tumblr should be made into a recovery positive place not somewhere that people can be pushed back into their disordered ways
