Tykebrean Cheshier started this petition to Tulsa City Council

Currently the City of Tulsa is removing the Black Lives Matter Mural that was put up June 19,2020. While that Mural made a powerful statement, we would like a Mural that represents Tulsa and educates others on Tulsa’s past so we can make Black Lives Truly Matter !That Mural was done without a permit and the city will be removing it soon.
We are asking for Tulsa Mayor & City of Tulsa to replace it with Black Wall Street & let Local Black Artist in Tulsa make it! Putting Black Wall Street on the Street where the worst Massacre in US history happened is needed. With Black Wall Street being our Mural it welcomes ideas like our own District and getting reparations for our community. Our next step would be to make Greenwood a District like “the Pearl District “ & “ the art district”. This would be a great way to get tourist in our city and to also build up black owned businesses. Also , with the Black Wall Street Mural people can see it from their air planes and with a quick google search they will see info over Tulsa’s History! Please share!
