We are a group of Broadmoor-Broadway Village homeowners and neighbors who strongly support density along the Broadway corridor. We are anti-sprawl, pro-affordable housing, pro-environment, and believe the only way forward for Tucson is to increase infill development and to build up, not further out into the desert.  We must break from the development patterns that have characterized Tucson for the past seventy+ years.

The neighbors who have vocally opposed the density and height incentives proposed as part of the Sunshine Mile Overlay do not represent us.  The neighborhood plan they cite was created over 30 years ago, and its positions on density are not consistent with the priorities of many of us who have purchased homes since that time.  We urge Rio Nuevo, the mayor, and the council to reinstate the six-story height incentives that were allowed in the original proposal within the Mid-century Subdistrict of the Sunshine Mile Overlay corridor.
