Why this petition matters
SPRINGBOK PARK UNDER THREAT!
ADDRESS: Springbok Park, 1125 Pretorius Street, Hatfield, Tshwane, Gauteng.
1. SAFETY CONCERNS 2. PARKING ISSUE
The Springbok Park, Hatfield, a National Monument, over 100 years old, a Public Park where families used to come to, a park that is well known for Wedding Photographs. This park has become a drug infested area. The drug dealers sleep in the park and DEFECATE in the plants, they vandalize the lights, the water pipes, the benches. The park is very dense due to the lack of maintenance from Tshwane.
The municipality has cut off some of the Afrikaner trees that is estimated to be 80 years old, because they don't get watered. The Zirconias are not looked after, some have diseases because they do not get trimmed as required regularly.
We, the people are requesting The Government to immediately start resolving this issue that has been going on for too long, for years. Many meetings were setup, many emails were sent but no action has been taken.
No one is taking responsibility, we have spoken to ALL the correct people in charge and no one cares, no one is doing their job. The park is in the meantime deteriorating, the trees are dying. HELP US SAFE THE PARK!
